One of my all time favorite presents was for Mother's Day from my daughter Alisha. It was a beautiful stained glass hummingbird wine stopper. I absolutely loved it.
It is really frustrating to try and get the original cork back in the bottle sometimes, so this is a great option for a present with so many different stoppers to choose from.
Another favorite present I received again from Alisha, was wine charms. They are fabulous gifts for wine lovers. I have quite an extensive collection of wine charms now, I'm hooked on collecting them. No matter what the occassion, I have a Xmas Ones, Easter ones, Canada day ones, grape ones. I don't think you could ever have to many wine charms.:-)
Christmas charms that have little miniature suction cups on them that stick to the side or base of your glass are a gift that will be appreciated by any wine lover.
My five year old son just loves them. He always picks the Santa charm for his "juice glass." Ho ho ho...Corbin loves anything to do with Christmas and anything that looks festive. We put his morning orange juice in champagne glasses for the week leading up to Santa's arrival.
There are so many other presents that would be fabulous also for the friend or family member on your list who loves wine. This site is all about exploring those options and coming up with some truly unique gifts for wine lovers and memorable gifts as well. As someone who truly enjoys a nice glass of red I know personally what vino people like. (Alisha take notes cause your of legal age now to buy me these presents :-))
Wine journals, clubs, stoppers, racks , charms, cheese bakers....the list for gifts for wine lovers goes on and on. We have lots of unusual ideas in our store. We will explore all different countries, regions and varietal types of grapes to see what truly makes a great wine.
Be creative with choosing your gifts for wine lovers and take your time. There is an abundance of ideas out there as far as wine goes. You could personalize your choice even more by combining two passions and put them in one big basket. Wine and cheese goes fabulously together, you can find ready made baskets or make your own.
The Wine Trip That Started My serious Passion For Wines
I am lucky enough to live in beautiful British Columbia, Canada. We have some of the best wineries around, at least in my humble opinion. About 5 years ago I went on my first wine weekend trip ever up to Kelowna, in the Okanagan. I had a fantastic time, I liked wine when we left...I loved wine when we came back!
So many wineries so little time...but if your looking for gifts for wine lovers here your in luck. There is an abundance of beautiful wineries here all over BC with some fabulous gift shops attached...Full of fantastic wines and gifts, I know I have visited quite a few of them :-)
Here are two buddies of mine Jeff & Jeff taking pictures of the grape vines at Mission Hill :-) It was a fun trip.
Even though when you pick up most books on the subject, we get just a mere short blip or mention. For those of you outside of BC and Canada we are an undiscovered jewel to many when it comes to wine. Mission Hill up in Kelowna puts out some phenomenal vino. They compete with the best of the best.
In 1994 at the International Wine And Spirits Competition Mission Hill's 1992 Chardonnay won the prestigious award of best Chardonnay. Imagine that, in a blind taste it took place twice, yes twice. The judges couldn't believe a winery from Canada from a town they could barely pronounce the name of had just taken 1st place in this category.
So they redid the taste testing the next day with the same results. Kudos to Mission Hill. I love them. They consistently put out a fantastic product year after year. Oculus is one of my all-time favorite wines from here.
Mission Hill was my favorite wine tour that I took when we went up to the Okanagan. Elizabeth was our tour guide. She was fantastic, full of knowledge and personality if your ever up in Kelowna you must take the tour to get Elizabeth's secret polish martini recipe. It's fabulous! The wild boar and organic cheeses are just a bonus to this tour.
You won't regret going and you'll have a blast. And Mission Hill is just one of many that are fantastico wineries in BC. There are lots that put out a superb quality of vino just in the Okanagan alone.
- There are wineries from all over the world that produce phenomenal wines at all different price points. So whether your looking to spend $10 or $100 there is a wine for you. We are going to explore many of them as well as what enhances them in the for of gifts for wine lovers.
- If you want a sure fire never miss wine gift that is guaranteed to put a smile on a wine lovers face, get them a gift of the month wine club. They will remember you month after month when they receive there choice of the month bottle(or bottles) of wine.
- Personally I would be extra happy with a wine of the month club as a gift. Just the thought of wine being conveniently delivered to my front door without any effort from me sounds like the perfect gift! And you can choose your price point here to, it's easy to do and there are a tonne of options for this at your local wineries as well as the internet.
- Wine gifts are appropriate for all kinds of occassions. Champagne for a baby shower, wedding or graduation. Birthdays, Valentine's day, Christmas presents, corporate gifts, house warming, because it's Monday, because it's Tuesday, because it's Friday:-)...the list goes on and on.
- Giving a single bottle of wine or making up your own custom basket full of goodies is always appreciated by the recipient. Find a unique wine gift, a small accessory and tie it with a nice ribbon to the top of the bottle of wine. Gift certificates from your local liqour store, wineries and online stores are also a never fail great gift. That way you know your wine loving friend will buy exactly the wines they want. See, gifts for wine lovers are easy to find.
